The Momentum and Tanglewood Bike Clubs, wrapping up their third year as regular users of The Preserve at River West, have continued to be gracious partners and grateful stewards of our land. In addition to weekly use of the 1.5 mile paved loop, they also hold special events for the Tanglewood middle schoolers as well as at-risk kids in the community. In April of this year, Momentum hosted twenty youth for a day of fun hosted by Trout Unlimited, Clemson’s Fly Fishing club and other mentors. Activities included: tying flies for trout, fly fishing, rod casting, collecting clay and other soil from the creek banks for analysis, invertebrate studies with catch and release, Scat and Spoor tracking of various animals, and stream water collection and analysis. There is no end to the curiosity or lessons to be learned in nature.
